Linda Brice
Linda Brice teaches voice to 50 students from her studio (which she calls Transformational Voice Training) in Northeast Portland. She has been teaching for 27 years, with former students currently singing professionally all over the world. She has taught at the Indiana University School of Music and its regional campus IUPUI, in Southern California privately, at Oxnard College, and at the UC Santa Barbara Vocal Institute, and privately in St. George, Utah and Portland. She has concertized throughout North America, Germany, Switzerland, France and Belgium. She has appeared as soloist with numerous organizations including the Southwest Symphony, the San Luis Obispo Early Music Consort, and the Santa Barbara New Music Festival.
Linda holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Voice Performance from the Indiana University School of Music, did Doctoral study at UCLA in Systematic Musicology, and holds Certificates from the Academie Internationale d’Ete de Nice in French Language and French Song Literature. She is a published author in the area of Artificial Intelligence and Music, having spent six years designing instructional software in harmony at the IBM-Los Angeles Scientific Center. She is the founder of a consulting firm, Amerispeak, which provides speech communication services to executives, including accent modification for those who speak English as a Second Language. As an undergraduate, she also owned and operated an on-location recording service at the Indiana University School of Music.
